Biography
b. 1982, Lebanon | Based between Beirut & Dubai
Magda Malkoun is a Lebanese artist working across photocollage, and painting to explore memory, identity, and the quiet strength of women. Her layered portraits are composed from fragments of her own photographs—captured in sites marked by history, journey, or belonging—and reconstructed into sculptural forms that speak of resilience, beauty, and transformation.
Based between Beirut & Dubai, she has exhibited in the UAE, Lebanon, Europe, and the U.S., with highlights including Art Dubai, Times Square NYC, the Museum of the Future, COP28, Cairo Art Fair, Menart Fair Paris and Red Dot Miami. Her work is held in private and institutional collections including UNESCO, MIA Art Collection, Yes Collection and Zayed University.
Malkoun draws inspiration from German Expressionism, Khalil Gibran, and the figurative sensuality of Klimt. Her practice is intuitive yet intentional, guided by emotion and memory — creating works that invite reflection, cross-cultural dialogue, and a deeper connection to self and place.
